More than 60 leading Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, alongside outstanding education organisations, professionals and personalities, were honoured today at the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026, recognising excellence, innovation, leadership and significant contributions to Malaysia’s education and skills development landscape.
The prestigious ceremony was graced by Guest of Honour (GOH), Yang Berbahagia Ir. Ts. Dr. Kamaruzaman Md Ali, Director General, Department of Skills Development (JPK), Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), whose presence underscored the growing importance of skills development and TVET in strengthening Malaysia’s human capital and economic competitiveness.
As Director General of JPK, Dr Kamaruzaman plays an important role in advancing the national skills development agenda. In recent years, Malaysia has continued to strengthen TVET as a mainstream pathway for developing highly skilled, industry-ready talent, with greater emphasis on industry relevance, certification, digitalisation and emerging technologies.
According to Lee Seng Chee, Managing Editor of Education + TVET Asia, the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026 is organised to honour outstanding education institutions, leading TVET institutions and boutique education service providers in Malaysia.
“For this year’s event, the organisers received almost 300 nominations from universities, colleges, schools, home schools, training centres, language centres, skills and vocational centres, enrichment and tuition centres, preschools, trainers, instructors, coaches, as well as IT and technology providers. The panel of judges, comprising experienced education, training and media professionals, carefully evaluated the nominations and selected the deserving winners based on their achievements, contributions, innovation and excellence within the education and TVET sector.”
The Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026 honours institutions and professionals across a broad spectrum, including universities, colleges, schools, training centres, skills and vocational institutions, education service providers, trainers, educators and technology providers.
The awards recognise achievements across key areas such as leadership, innovation, productivity, sustainability, programme excellence, service excellence, brand excellence and new-start-up excellence, celebrating organisations that continue to raise standards and create meaningful impact within the sector.
Among distinguished winners were Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Yayasan Johor Corporation, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Ranaco Education And Training Institute (RETI), PROTON Institute, Berlitz Language Centre, CARSOME Academy, ADTEC JTM Kampus Pedas & Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM), TNB ILSAS, Enet Academy, Sheffield Academy, Yayasan Felda, Kolej Vokasional (Pertanian) Teluk Intan and Sunway University.
The 2026 edition brings together education leaders, institutional owners and management teams, educators, trainers, entrepreneurs, industry professionals and stakeholders, creating an important platform for networking, knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026 therefore serves not only as a celebration of achievement, but also as a reminder of the collective responsibility of education providers, industry and policymakers to develop a future-ready generation equipped with the knowledge, skills and adaptability needed to contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s continued progress.
