A total of 270 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) have recorded an impressive 99.5% employability rate among their graduates, according to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the achievement demonstrates the high level of confidence employers have in TVET graduates, while also highlighting the effectiveness of the training programmes delivered by MARA institutions.

Speaking during the National TVET Day celebration, Ahmad Zahid noted that the strong employability figures align with the government’s ongoing efforts to deepen industry partnerships and ensure training curricula remain relevant to current workforce and market demands.

He said the employability rate of TVET graduates had risen to 98.7%, up from 96.1% previously.

Describing the achievement as a major success, he said it demonstrated the effectiveness of collaboration between the government and industry players in producing graduates who meet current job market requirements.

Ahmad Zahid also mentioned many industries had signed agreements with TVET institutions and the National TVET Council to absorb graduates directly into the workforce, with some companies offering starting salaries of at least RM2,500.

He added that TVET would continue to be enhanced through the introduction of TVET 2.0, which will place greater emphasis on emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT) and renewable energy while addressing skills mismatches and expanding opportunities in high-growth sectors.
