Sarawak to launch AI Artventure Digital Art Gallery featuring student creations at IDECS25

Sarawak is set to launch its first artificial intelligence powered digital art gallery called AI Artventure during the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2025 or IDECS25. The gallery blends student creativity with AI technology to promote innovation and digital talent development.

Known as Digital Art Gallery 2025 or DAG25, the exhibition will take place from 22 to 26 October at Balai Rong Hall located within Makeramai Makerspace at Plaza Merdeka. The initiative is supported by Crave Asia Sdn Bhd.

DAG25 will showcase original artworks by Sarawak school students that will be reimagined by artificial intelligence and displayed on a five metre interactive digital wall. Visitors can experience a unique fusion of art and technology through these evolving digital displays.

IDECS25 Lead Secretariat, Amirrul Rizwan Mohd Abd Hafiz said the exhibition demonstrates Sarawak’s commitment to digital inclusion creativity and sustainable innovation. He added that the initiative aims to position Sarawak as a regional leader in digital growth while nurturing local talent.

An AI Artventure Competition will be held in conjunction with the exhibition. Open to students and the public participants are invited to submit artworks based on the theme Green Planet. Submitted pieces will be transformed by AI and showcased on the digital wall. Each artwork will include the name and school of the student artist.

Prizes worth RM15000 sponsored by Wonderpark will be awarded to winners. The school with the most submissions will receive a 65 inch interactive iBoard while the most creative student entries will receive iPads. All student participants will get an e certificate and a digital copy of their AI generated artwork. Members of the public who take part will also stand a chance to win an iPad.

During the five day event visitors can explore four hands on learning zones under the STEAM theme including the Art Zone for drawing and colouring the Engineering Zone with magnetic blocks the Construction Zone with LEGO activities and the Craft Zone for beadwork and creative crafting.

In addition to the exhibition the public can enjoy the Makeramai Playzone within the Makeramai Makerspace operated by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation. The playzone offers interactive experiences including Nintendo Switch gaming Virtual Reality sessions and 3D Pen activities designed to show how technology can inspire creativity.

Admission to DAG25 is free and open to everyone.
