The 2024 China-ASEAN College Students’ AI Application Innovation Invitation Competition Successfully Concluded

On March 11, the 2024 China-ASEAN College Students’ AI Application Innovation Invitation Competition successfully concluded. The competition attracted 168 teams from 39 universities across seven countries, including China, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. The participating projects covered various fields such as smart agriculture, new energy, cross-border trade, AI+ industrial design, AI+ e-commerce, AI+ cultural communication, and AI+ supply chain management, demonstrating unprecedented innovation and vitality.

This competition drew participation from 168 teams representing 39 universities across 7 countries, namely China, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. The projects submitted encompassed a wide range of fields, including smart agriculture, new energy, cross-border trade, AI-driven industrial design, AI-enhanced e-commerce, AI-supported cultural communication, and AI-integrated supply chain management. This marked a new high in terms of innovation vitality.

Following an intense competition, the project Smart irrigation enables the leader of high-standard farmland by the Runtian Zhixing team from Guangxi Finance Vocational College won gold award, the project Al Empowers New Chapter for Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Al Empowers the Baikuyao Ethnic Group from Guangxi International Business Vocational College and SicnoMind by XiaoBao team from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation received the Silver Award. Furthermore, the bronze awards were granted to The Pioneer of ASEAN Fresh Produce Supply Chain Transformation Based on Federated Learning and Multimodal Transport Optimization by Cold Dome Federation team from University of Malaya, Algnite by Malaysia Al Trinity team from Tunku Abudul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Malaysia and SmartLearn AI by SmartEd Pioneers team by Beijing Institute of Technology. In addition, the competition also selected three winners for both the Most Creativity Award and the Most Potential Award.

The competition was jointly organised by Guangxi Finance Vocational College, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, and the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital Economy. It was hosted by Guangxi Tus Innovation Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd. and Brunsfield TusStar Sdn. Bhd. (TusStar Malaysia). In the future, both parties will continue to leverage youth innovation as a cornerstone, facilitate technology sharing and industrial upgrading, and collaboratively write a new chapter in digital economy development.
